operational conscious process that take also into account the preservation of the
historical and architectural value and the demands of an extended accessibility.
Making the accessibility survey process as objective as possible, simple and practical in
the context of a historical building, means to facilitate the identification of possible design
solutions, not as punctual interventions, but as an organic system, and it also means to
make people aware about the accessibility problems, not only the engineers, architects
and designers but also the public opinion.
Designing the accessibility of the historical university buildings means to ensure to all
users the same rights of education and social inclusion, and also to contribute to the
qualitative and quantitative growth of the Italian socio-cultural system, improving in an
architectural point of view some of the most significant cultural tourism destinations in
the Country.
