Low-energy housing.
In the following picture, we can see some examples of houses built at the beginning of
2012 in central Italy, Emilia region. Wood was chosen for the construction of the houses
because the client wanted a low-energy home and, therefore, a very efficient level of
heat insulation. In the case, the fact that the house was completed in only three months
was of little importance. The first example is related to a 250 sqm villa near Modena in
Emilia region (Fig.7) The main aim of both the clients was to have a home that
consumed… little fuel and was extremely cheap to run. Both the construction are fully
equipped with modern and efficient home automation systems. Both solar energy
sistems for power and heath are used in those constructions. The same (Fig.1) frame
wall method previously mentioned was also used in the building of these houses. Not
less important the cost of both constructions. They are be around 1,700.00€/sqm only
excluding the main power photo voltaic energy plant.
