Less known VAWTs are available in the market which has wider range of design options.
Out of the people who found a wind turbine unattractive 55% were below 60 years and
all the people who felt that a wind turbine does not affect its aesthetics are above 60
years as shown in the chart 5. This shows that younger people are not at all impressed
with the appearance of the present day wind turbine while at least 42% of people above
60 years feel it does not affect the aesthetics (Figs.8 & 9).

When it comes to generating energy at an urban scale in individual houses, solar panels
are generally given more preference due to reasons like its availability, bigger market,
evidences of solar panels being tried and tested in the past and its integration into the
building design itself. Just 17 % of the people have considered wind turbines as an. 58%
