Concluding remarks
Paulínia has a highly fragmented landscape, with only 6% of native forest.
Nevertheless, there is still a very interesting diversity of plants and animals species due
to its location, i.e., it is situated in the transition zone of two great biomes: the Atlantic
Forest and Savanna (Cerrado). The different environmental conditions of these regions
favor the occurrence of different habitats and consequently higher species diversity.
The Paulínia Botanic Garden develops several research projects of the regional
flora, essential to the conservation and restoration of the landscape, such as
environmental diagnosis, seed collection, plant propagation and reintroduction of
species in degraded areas.
About the environmental conservation there is also need to sensitize the
population. Thus, the Garden develops several Environmental Education programs
based on knowledge of the environmental situation and demands of the city and its
region.
Indeed the project presented led to an increase in the concernment about the
construction processes aimed at sustainability and environment conservation. After all,
this entire proposal also aims to attend the needs of researchers and environmental
education, favoring not only researchers but the whole population involved with the
process of preserving and protecting the environment.
In this sense, the Master Plan comprises the improvement of the working
conditions of its employees and promotes a unique experience to visitors in the
Garden. Hence it is essential to a fundraising strategy.
