Figure 1: Tendentious ideogram of formative process of energy responsible project
The ideogram offers a reinterpretation of the design process, through key decision points
that contribute to define the housing-constructive system.
The ultimate goal of defining an architectural language that can express the congruence
of the technical choices according to a reasonable balance between goals and resources
of the project, given the energy and environmental issues, it also becomes a form of
expression of new values, mode housing, building concepts with obvious consequences
(feedback) throughout the decision-making process, according to different times.
The central point of the discussion is that all steps of development of the design process
are both moments of research and development of building energy and environmental
innovation (product innovations), both opportunities to generate retroactive changes in
the operating areas of the project (process innovations).
We confirm in this way, a field investigation in which it identifies the general topic of
"environmental issue" and the resulting specific topic of "energy issue" as the main areas
of interest for the development of a technology argument about the critical points of the
contemporary project: widespread interest emerges in every step of the ideogram to a
reflection on the issues of
technological awareness
and
ethical consciousness
of the
design and construction process.
The concept of sustainability, which developed after the energy crisis of the '70s, is
replaced with the idea of responsibility in the implementation of interventions and
awareness in the relation man/environment.
Scientific thought had undermined any prejudice, avoiding every obstacle, any binding
behavior, had affirmed the right of the artificial over the natural domain: the technological
illusion had brought the man into a spiral myopic arrogance, had prompted him to illusion
of being able to indiscriminately attack the environment governing it with the resources of
the technique.
The passage through the energy crisis and the subsequent consciousness of a ecologist
and environmentalist culture had opened up new scenarios and, particularly, had favored
a general rethinking the relationship with the environment. At that time was born the
concept of sustainability of the interventions and procedures studied in order to quantify
and qualify the impact of changes in the environment.
Detachment from anthropocentric considerations and implementation of systemic
strategies coherent with the ecocentric vision led, today, to assume a value which
