The combination of the supporting structure of outer square mesh and internal-external
enclosure designed independently, continuously variable within the prescribed limits
according to their needs, creates an image that reflects the diverse and changing variety
of ways of living space inside. The regularity of the structural aims instead to establish a
possible dialogue with neighboring historic buildings characterized by rhythmically
repeated sequences of modular components.
Overall, the built system assumes a polygonal configuration, shaped on the progress of
the historic walls. It is implanted on a base developed in the difference between the two
dimensions of access road, one less than the base of the walls and the other at the
urban level, coinciding with that of Piazza San Bernardino.
In particular, the urban level was free from any volume, so as to give the city a space
that can play an important role in urban public system.
Inside the basement were obtained extra spaces, public and private, in which were
located public places (library, an auditorium, a room for exhibitions) and services top
half-buried level, and underground parking spaces at the bottom.

was awarded by Archiprix ITALY 2010 (first prize of the "special section").
