Finally, the north building, the subject of this article, was subjected to intense activity in
the late 19
th
and the first half of the 20
th
century and preserves signs of the origin only in
the outer walls, especially those facing the inner courtyard, of which it is now possible to
see the arches of an obstructed open gallery that probably completed the walkway inside
the courtyard.
The fact that a part of the cornice is still present provides evidence of this.
The original internal rooms were completely destroyed and replaced by concrete
structures and elements (figg. 38,39).
