With the aim of recovering as much space as possible, at the beginning of the century,
the usual action of closing the existing arches with masonry was carried out. These
columns, which are probably the same age as those present in the west building, were
entirely removed along with their capitals. This can be seen by looking at the existing
masonry without plaster, where two types of arch are present, one within the other.
The first one is related to the original round archs of the gallery whilst the other has the
function of lintel for new openings which were left on the wall, albeit of a smaller size.
Thanks to the removal of small parts of plaster confirmation of this fact has been found.

As regards the internal rooms, existing areas have been totally worked over adding new
partitions and structures such as floors made of concrete and masonry blocks.
Even the floors have been replaced using modern and contemporary solutions.
The roof of the building is a traditional trussed roof structure; the main trusses have
superimposed secondary morals and terracotta tiles. Usually the spacing between
morals is 30 cm and in accordance with Italian tradition, their size is 6x6 cm or 8x8 cm
depending on the terracotta tile size.
The surveys carried out indicate that the trusses appear to be the original ones. (Figg. 41
