desks in the basement in different periods of the year and by varying the thickness of the
window glass as well as the transparency of glass.
The results confirm that the new glass cover allows for a saving in terms of electricity
consumption for lighting (figg. 15 &16).

The original galleries on the second floor remain substantially unchanged; they only will
be closed with a sheet of glass to permit the correct use of internal areas and at the
same time preserve the form of the original building.
Looking at this project it is possible to say that it summarizes the previous two
historical periods, representing the ideal growth of the building. At the same time, it
recovers original spaces, preserving and improving the original distributive function with
new and innovative concepts (Fig.17,18,19)
