Structural project
The aim of the structural project was to recover and re-use the cast iron columns,
possibly without changing the original structural layout.
The existing foundations do not have a slab connecting one to the other in order to give
stability to structures in the case of seismic action, and for this reason a reinforced
concrete slab is provided at the base of columns. The thickness of this slab is 15 cm and
it is fixed to the columns with 3+3 metal bars, 200cm long (Inox AISI 304), 16mm
diameter.
These bars go through the existing foundation and are fixed to it using epoxy resin
