The proposed net zero energy house has been examined for the use of the PV/T roof
system which is combined with an MVHR unit. The whole house energy assessment
was carried out based on SAP 2009. An existing house adjacent to the proposed
housing development has been occupied by the family (two adults and two children) who
provided the data related to the energy usage patterns of their house. The house had
already been equipped with an energy monitoring device called ‘EWGECO’ and the
