Outline of Hoi-an Cafe
The building has four floors and a total floor space of about 262.8 square meters—e.g.
(Fig.3). And, it was constructed of a reinforced concrete structure. The first floor is the
bicycle-parking area, the water treatment tank and the owner’s room, and the second
and the third floors are the cafes and the
Bio-Geo-Filters
. These
Bio-Geo-Filters
remove
Phosphorus
etc. from the wastewater.
The first floor of
Hoi-an Cafe
is under water as high as 1.5 meters when the river in front
of
Hoi-an Cafe
flashes about twice a year in rain season. Therefore, the water treatment
tank was constructed with a height of over 1.5 meters.
The wall consists of the double skin brick wall. And, it has air space between the both
bricks. The roof consists of 80millimeters-thick concrete slab and the local five-ply
unglazed roof tiles—e.g. (Fig.4).
