The parameters used in the three different models (M-1/M-3) have been chosen
coherently with the characteristics of materials commercially available and potentially
provided by the ZEB industry partners. Since we were aiming for an ambitious target it
was decided to start with a set of parameters already fulfilling Low-Energy Building
standards in Norway (M-1). In the second set of parameters (M-2) u-value of walls and
windows has been further reduced together with the overall air-tightness of the envelope
(0.5 ach at 50 Pa). In the third set of parameter (M-3) in accordance with Norwegian
Standards for Passive house buildings NS3700, the overall glass ratio of the building
was reduced to 20% of the total heated area.
